Description

From historic Tintern Abbey we walk through the lovely Wye Valley, on the English - Welsh border.

Along the Way we’ll visit the romantic, ivy-clad ruin of St Mary’s Church, high on the valley side, see part of Offa's Dyke, discover Brockweir village with its whitewashed Moravian Chapel on the banks of the river, admire some wonderful views and listen to readings and reflections for summer. Mid-afternoon we’ll make a refreshment stop at the lovely, Tintern Old Station Café. With outdoor and indoor seating, there’s a 1950’s charm about the station. A converted railway carriage alongside, tells the story of the Wye Valley Railway.

This is a circular pilgrim walk of about seven miles. It is steep in parts with some rocky sections which can be slippery underfoot if wet.

Everyone is welcome. And if you have a dog, please feel free to bring him or her along as well.

Please bring a packed lunch.
