Lord, can we go back to where we belong
To familiar scenes, likely places
Whose auras remind us of places where
We have felt safe, where we've been happy and
Where, in whimsy, we'd like to go again?
Can we go back there Lord, would that be good
Or would the old be gone: the new be cold?
Would seeing it now destroy the idyll?
Would the memory be scuppered and fade?
Or could we see with greater clarity
The place, where many years ago, we're from?
